Yo La Tengo @ Prospect Park Tonight (7/13)


The Celebrate Brooklyn! concert series continues tonight with a free Yo La Tengo/Samara Lubelski double bill at the Bandshell. I seem to remember seeing Yo La in the park some several years ago, doing a straight set; this time they will be performing their The Sounds of the Sounds of Science during an open air screening of surreal aquatic documentaries by Jean Painleve. One of his films is below (with original soundtrack):

Should be interesting, to say the least. Another notable screening/live performance coming up is Dracula on July 27th with Philip Glass and the Kronos Quartet.

Opener Samara Lubelski, busy producer and Social Registry signee, is also a favorite here. Finally getting a chance to see her perform.
